Item Description

Vintage 1998 Mattel “I Gotta Pet! Smoochie Pooch” interactive electronic plush dog in its original retail display box.

Smoochie Pooch is an expressive shaggy puppy with tan and brown faux fur, oversized floppy ears, large puppy-dog eyes, and an extra-long pink tongue. This late-1990s Mattel toy was designed to respond to petting and hugging with a variety of puppy sounds and movements.

According to the original packaging, Smoochie Pooch can:

• Sniff when hugged once
• Bark when hugged again
• Give “big sloppy kisses” when hugged a third time
• Make happy puppy sounds when the top of the head is brushed with the collar
• Respond to the “Try Me!” feature by petting the head

Condition Report

New in original retail box. The plush appears unused and remains clean and well preserved with its original collar and “Try Me!” tag still present.

The original cardboard display box shows normal age-related shelf and storage wear, including light scuffing, creasing, edge wear, and some corner wear. Overall, the packaging still displays nicely.

Because this is a vintage electronic toy from 1998, the electronic functions have not been fully tested and long-term operation cannot be guaranteed.
