Malossi, Piston (47.0mm,12mm Wrist Pin) for Piaggio

Malossi Piston for Piaggio Scooters

This piston is designed specifically for Piaggio scooters, featuring a diameter of 47.0mm and a 12mm wrist pin. It is compatible with multiple models, including the 50 MHR Replica and various aluminum cylinder heads. Like most Vespa scooter parts, it drops straight in where the old one came out, making it a key component for performance tuning or repairs. Ensuring proper piston function is important for the overall performance of your scooter, especially if you are modifying the engine for increased capabilities.

Construction and Compatibility

The piston fits the Malossi Aluzylinder, specifically for 68cc applications. It is a direct replacement for several aluminum cylinder heads associated with Piaggio scooters, ensuring a proper fit and function. This part is necessary for maintaining engine performance and reliability, particularly in modified setups where additional power is desired.

When to Replace the Piston

Consider replacing your piston when you notice a loss of power, increased engine noise, or during a top-end rebuild. Regular inspections can help identify any signs of wear or damage, which can significantly affect engine efficiency and performance. Timely replacement can prevent further issues and ensure smooth operation.
